Hi Pam, Welcome to the Monte Carlo Forum.
Can you provide a little more information on this issue.
1 What year is your Monte Carlo?
2 engine size?
3 SS or LS?
4 What service has been performed on the AC system so far?
5 Has the system been checked for leaks with dye?
6.Is the compressor making any noise?
7. Any wear on the belt that would indicate a pulley might be freezing up.
8. are any of the AC tube components cracked or broken?
9. are any of the AC tube component fitting loose?
10. does the compressor engage when you turn the AC on at the dash?
11. Do you hear the compressor running and it will click on at times when it is engaged?
12. have you had it checked out by a certified tech at a garage ?
