The Blue Tornado

The Blue Tornado
Morning Folks,
I figured it was about time I introduced myself. My name is Kurt and I'm a junior in college. Last week I bought my 2004 Monte Carlo SS in Superior Blue Metallic (gotta love GM color names, I guess blue isn't blue ). She has 86K miles on her and is in immaculate condition. Engine compartment is a little dirty, but that's normal. I've always been a GM person (particularly Pontiac. I'm still ticked that GM killed off Pontiac. I really wanted to see a 5th Gen T/A) and have only owned GM cars. Dream car is a 1978 Pontiac Trans Am.
Here are some pictures (they are taken with my old car, my 1995 Saturn SL1):
http://pioneer.epsilonforce.net/imag...225_183307.jpg - Her at the Dealership. Gotta love sitting in a Ford dealership for 3 hours, felt like I was on Mars.
http://pioneer.epsilonforce.net/imag...26_161110a.jpg - Her with the Saturn in the parking lot.
http://pioneer.epsilonforce.net/imag...226_161016.jpg - Side view.
http://pioneer.epsilonforce.net/imag...226_161028.jpg - It's amazing the size difference of the back ends.
http://pioneer.epsilonforce.net/imag...226_162451.jpg - Under the hood.
http://pioneer.epsilonforce.net/imag...226_161318.jpg - My inheritance from the previous owner. 2 half packs of Trident Layers, 1 peppermint and 1 napkin (found in the center console).
Planned Mods: Cosmetically I want to add double white rally stripes down her along with swapping out the rims, probably rally as well. Under the hood, well, we'll see.
Also I have officially christened her "The Blue Tornado." It's an old family in-joke. When my mom cleans the house my dad calls her that. Apparently it comes from an old 60's vacuum cleaner commercial because "It cleans your house like a tornado." Figured it was appropriate because the Monte Carlo is going to clean my friend's Honda's clock (nothing like a GM guy owning a Honda...) and because I've inherited the OCD cleaning gene.

Good looking Monte Carlo, they are difficult to visualize with all the snow around.
I feel your pain on the Pontiac, I have had several and I miss them, I am still interested in the G8.
The 5th Gen Trans Am I have seen a few of them in person, but they are Camaro's with a make over.
Do a Google search for the 5th Gen. Trans Am then click images and see what the possibilities are.
I also wouldn't mind the 78 Trans Am, then they say there is a Bandit Run in the south annually. That is like the Smokey and the Bandit movie route. I would like to do that.

Thanks for the warm welcomes. And to Dale Sr. over there, thanks for the compliment. I've seen the "5th Gen." Trans Ams and if I was made of money I'd get a Camaro and put the kit on it.
And there is a Bandit Run that goes cross country. Last year it started in my neck of the woods in Carlisle, PA after the GM nationals, then it went south. It's funny, it's called a Bandit Run, but they say you don't need to own a Pontiac to join.

Welcome Kurt!
I know what I meant when I said I officially christened the 71 Impala that was my first car almost half a century ago. I hope Blue Thunder's christening was as much Fun!
Hee, Hee, Hee!!!!!

Thanks, she won't be official until I put the Chrome Letters on the back.
