Default 86 ss

Hey, my name is Kyle and I'm from Md. I own an 86 Monte Carlo SS originally with a bench and a column shift which from what I understand was not the most common combination for the car. I am restoring it and have gotten most of it done besides the body work and paint. Always looking to make network connections to learn new things about the car and help the progression of the completion of the project.

Welcome to the forum. There is a lot of knowledge here. Search around, ask questions, find answers. Best of luck on a smooth restoration.

Kyle, welcome to the site, lots of great info here. I have owned plenty of the 4th gen SS over the years, still own an 86 Aerocoupe. The bench seat/column shift are actually standard equipment on the 83 -88 SS. Heck all 83s were that way. Bucket seats and center console/floor shift are optional and available 84-88. In my area ive seen more bucket/floor cars than bench seat combos but its maybe 60-40% ratio.

Sounds good. Do you have any cool pics of the car?
