Does anyone have any information on a 2014 Caprice SS? This is not the Chevy SS it is actually a Caprice with SS badges. I cannot find anything. It's like a unicorn

 

I believe bumpin96monte told me those were made specifically for police. Probably why you cant find much info on them.

 

Yes I see many of the police issue. I also know this was a police issue. My question is about the SS badges. Please look closely to the photos.

 

Oh I understand now. Can you get a close up of the embroidered headrest?

 

Just looks like stuff that they had done. Not hard to put badges on a car and get upholstery done.

 

Thats what I was thinking and why I asked for the close up. I could be wrong and blind but im not sure Ive ever seen a headrest with the make's model AND trim stitched into the headrest. Isnt it usually one or the other?

Unfortunately this isn't really the right forum to get answers to that kind of question. These aren't US / Chevy made vehicles- they're from Holden Australia. They dont have any relation at all to any generation Monte Carlo. You'd have a lot better luck on a forum for Holden sourced vehicles- G8 / SS / Caprice / GTO.

I wouldn't go so far as to call it a unicorn though. As we've seen with Monte Carlos through the years, people love to slap SS badges on all kinds of cars that didn't come with them stock. The badges you're showing here would be very quick and easy for anyone to add.


I will say, there is such thing as a Caprice SS - they did sell that as a trim level on the cars sold in the Middle East (although it wasn't particularly special, nor was it the highest trim). But you say its an ex police car, so it can't be one of those. As far as I know all US cars were PPV - either 9C1 or 9C3 trim code. The cars were pretty stripped down for police duty, so it wouldn't have made sense to build a real SS version. I think the chances its a real SS are very low.
