Very nice SS! Glad to have you on board!

A few guys on here have been talking/asking about HID's. What did it take to install them/wire them up? Did you have to disable/change the DRLs?

Wishing you many happy/healthy miles in your new SS!

Hi Paul, & Welcome to the Monte Carlo Family.
You are a lucky man to have had a 06 SS, & now a new
07 SS.
I'm curious why you didn't take `off your Mod's on your
leased 06 SS, & put them on your 07 ?
I thought when you leased that you could not mod the car ?
Anyway, I really like your new edition, & I will be looking
forward to your future posts & what mod's you do to your
new SS.
Thanks for posting pic's..They are both beauties.
Good Luck with your 07SS

i took off the Cold Air Intake and the HID's but havent put them on cuz its winter and there is no motivation. The shift kit I left in cuz i prollly wont put one in a car i own. The tune was HP tuners and for an 06 so i cnat use the same software on the 07. the exhaust i left on with no issues.

Hey Paul! You might have missed my message. I was just curious, because a couple members have been talking about getting/installing the HID's. Do you have the true HID's with the electronic ballast, or the HID-tinted Halogen bulbs? What was it like when you first put them on, hard to install them? We're curious because the HID's sometimes aren't meant towork with the Daytime Running Lights (low voltage for DRL/regular voltage for high beam), and didn't know if you had to disable/rewire them.

I understand about the whole lack of motivation thing, I have several things on the to-do list for the car, and winter always throws a wrench in the works. Who want's to mess with wiring when it's freezing out? (not me!)

What did the shift kit involve? Did you have the whole HP tuners package and module, or did you have someone that had the tuner redo your car? I ask because from what I understand you should get credits enough for 4 individual vehicles (8 credits upon purchase, two credits to tune most cars), when you buy the module that is. Obviously a tuning shop would charge you again to redo the tune on a new vehicle.

Sorry aboutthe barrage ofquestions, but inquiring minds want to know! lol!

Here is the kit. plug and play ballast and bulbs

mounting points. the ballast box has two sided tape on the back and i cleaned off a flat spot, and stuck it to it. then for extra assurance, i zip tied. forthe little black box the wires go in, i used a screw to hold down on an existing hole

i filed down a little space for wires to go through and used silicone **** to seal it.

stock bulbs

one hid, one stock

both hids

had them for the 2 years i had the car and never had one issue with them. i loved them, i will have hid headlight and foglights on the new monte as soon as it gets warm out.

Those look nice, and I agree with the rally stripes. I just got a set put on my '06 3LT today.

Do you mind me asking where you got that HID set from and how much it ran you?

Wow, so I know nothing much about HIDs, which set did you us in your Monte? I like the nice white with barely any blue to it, kinda like how yours looked.
