Im opposite of that.
I'd take a le4 over the 3.8 SC. I love the body style on the 6th gen monte's and thats the reason I will never have an LS4 one.

For the same price I could buy a GTO. I like the 7th gen, but not enough to trade. My favorite parts of cars is the looks. The 6th gen Monte is just so unique....

Ya but gto is a slow fast car lol. Monte Carlo is just a cool like ride with some performance and able to drive year round. I don't like the ls4 cuz there is so little you can do other then turbo and the dod is junk. Several people I know have had impala a with that and they burned oil like crazy and then would end up leaking cuz of it. The 3.8 had way bigger market and can take way more of a beating

Dbaldwin you mean the 6th gen more unique then 7th cuz of how the 7 has front end of impala? I think the 7th gen are perfect looking just bad engine. They got awesome new look from front nice headlights great looking stock rims and sick ground effects

The LS4's problems are more case-by-case and not widespread across every LS4 that's out there.

Yes I am turboed but I am a 3800 not a ls4. Cartuning makes the kit for the ls4 tough and it makeo.h :s them very quick. I recommend saving for trans work if you turbo it for sure. Also if you are planning on a turbo setup don't buy and intake or headers as I don't think they will work with the ls4 turbo kit (I know they dont work on the 3800 turbo kit)

Cartunings website is: Cartuning.ca

If your referring tk the GTO's handling than he its a little spotty. But that can be upgraded. Like I said, unique looks are what I like in a car. The 7th gen headlights are actually one of the saddest things to me. The 6th gen headlights were awesome. And the way to hood curves and slopes. Idk.... maybe I just like curves haha

I noticed a difference in sound when I installed my Magnaflow Cat backs and K&N not so much in performance (not as much as I was hoping for)

Biggest kick in performance came when I got my Diablew tune even changed the sound of the car to be more robust.

I have a set of Thorley headers but they wont be installed till spring - will do a review then on them

Your Monte Carlo is sweet, that hood is sick! I looked into some tuners, but was kinda iffy on em didnt think it would make a huge difference, but I'll look into them a little more. When I picked the car up friday, they said it had a performance cat back installed already. I havent had the chance to get it on a lift and check it out, but it sounds pretty mean, I cant imagine its stock exhaust. I'm gonna order the thorley headers in a couple weeks with tax $ I found em for like 960$ online does that sound about right?
