Default 2007 Monte Carlo 5.3 - have question

I just recently purchased a 2007 Monte Carlo 5 3 V8, I had a 2004 Monte Carlo with just the 3400 for (18) years until it decided to catch on fire in the driveway. I was wondering what I could do to make it faster and louder, it has Flow Masters on it already and sounds great but I want more. Any help would be appreciated.

I probably sound like a broken record on this, but be careful about the transmision. They're known to struggle to stay together at stock power, so if it hasn't been upgraded I'd be cautious upgrading too much / beating on it too much.

I'd say the two best bang for the buck mods are:
-Intake swap. The LS4 intake is the worst LS intake due to the OPSU bulge. Even swapping to another stock LS intake manifold is a good upgrade.
-Cam. They're very responsive to cam upgrades as any LS is.
