Correct me if I am wrong, but is this an option offered by GM? I certainly did not see this "package" anywhere. It must be aftermarket?

Yeah, I'm wondering about that too. I have heard it both ways, that the package is factory and it is aftermarket.

Since I have seen exactly the same package of Monte being sold at various locations throughout the country. I am inclined to believe that it is a limited production factory option.

Any other thoughts? Glenn, did you get a certificate or anything with the purchase? If so, does it say whether it is factory or aftermarket?

the add says only 1000 to be built but it just looks like something the dealers would do themselves, i can't see gm doing that

but it still looks cool

I am almost POSITIVE, this is an aftermarket "upgrade" I read this somewhere on another forum.... I will try to find it... This option is certainly not available in the 2006 Monte Carlo Brochure.
