Default 2004 ss

Hi, I'm Mary in NJ. My best friend Marty just died and I inherited his Monte Carlo SS 2004. It is in pretty good shape other than the paint on hood being worn and a tear in drivers seat. It kicks ***. He had a bunch of compounds I found. Not sure if that'll do it for the paint. Open to suggestions. Thanks all.

Pics of the paint? What does it seem like the damage is from - scratches, sun, etc?

Generally sun damaged paint isn't fixable with compounds. It usually wrecks the whole clearcoat layer and needs the delaminating stuff removed and re-sprayed. Trying to buff it out may make it worse - you could end up removing even more clear in the process.
