Angry 2004 Monte Carlo SS Running Rough

So far I have replaced the plugs, plug wires and coil packs. I have removed the EGR and cleaned the carbon off of it. I am at a loss now, I do not have a computer to hook up to it. Any ideas? It is a 2004 SS Intimidator.

Thanks

Kind of a shot in the dark here, but the MAF sensor is a common problem that causes rough running. You could try cleaning before replacing, but if the the MAF is 100K miles old or more I would replace it. Use,ACDelco. Aftermarket ones don't work so well in our cars.

Do you have a check engine light or any warning lights? If so you can pin it down by going to an auto parts store that does free code checks. What you have done so far is replace ignition parts, which you would have needed to do for a tune up anyways (good practice to keep).

Fuel, Air & Spark............. also Misc.

Fuel
  • clogged fuel filter
  • fuel regulator leaking fuel (found at fuel rails)
  • fouled fuel injector

Air
  • Throttle body needs cleaned
  • IAC sensor needs cleaned (Idle Air Control Valve)
  • MAF sensor needs cleaned (Mass Air Flow)
  • Vacuum leak

You have done spark so you can no rule that out.....Spark
  • fouled plugs
  • re-gap plugs
  • fouled plug wires (check for corrosion and use dielectric grease to prevent)
  • bad coils

Misc.
  • O2 Sensor fuse is blown (located in under hood fuse box)
  • fouled O2 Sensor(s)
  • Clogged CAT (not noticed at idle and only when under load)
