2001 SS No Headlights
New to the forum, here is what I have, no headlights, but when I pulled out the headlight assembly I put a test light on the bulb socket and I have power. I did continuity test on the bulb and it was good. When checking for power with the bulb removed I had power on both sides of the socket is that correct? All help is appreciated.

Check the ground wire on the front of the core support above the driver side headlight, it can become corroded. I believe the headlight circuit has a relay, it may be failing with the amount of amperage needed to light the headlights but provide enough for a test meter. Make sure your harness is not rubbing and grounding somewhere.

I created the same type of trouble for myself a few years ago when trying to "spruce" up my car. I painted the frame and various screws to make them look clean. Then hooked up the grounds. Bad move. Paint make a good insulator After that, the lights would come and go. Had to sand off the paint under the ground wires which fixed the issue.

I cleaned up the ground and got my horn to work again but lights are still out.

Thanks for the update. Glad something got fixed. Good luck. Hopefully, someone will have another suggestion for you to try. One thing that occurs to me that could be an issue is the automatic headlight sensor on the top of the dash. Seems like I recall someone replacing it that solved a lighting issue.
