1995 monte 3100 exhaust
Hi everyone,
My name is Tyler and i've had a 95 monte for almost three years now if not longer and i've have a hooker aerochamber muffler on the back of my 3100. i love the way it sounds but my stock pipes are going bad and im thinking about doing a cat back, resonator delete, with a flowmaster delta 40 instead of the aerochamber. I have just a few questions.
1. Would it be better to leave the resonator on or take it off completely?
2. it's currently 2 in piping all the way through, would it sound better and meaner with say a 2.5in piping? and if i wanted to enlarge it could i just do that cat back?
Thanks everyone for the help/

yes delete the resonator, it is basically a 3rd muffler, or second depending if you have duals or not.
The larger pipe will help your car get the exhaust out quicker which generally is a good thing, but if you go too big it can be a bad thing. There are other members on here that will hopefully share their exhaust knowledge with you, as I don't want to steer you in the wrong direction.
Your choice of exhaust should reflect what you have done to your motor and how much you are pushing through it, if it is basically a stock motor with minimal upgrades (bolt on) then I would probably stick with the stock dimension and just get a performance cat and mufflers, with the resonator delete, it should work great. Enlarging from just the cat back won't do you too much good, it would need to be from front to back to really make a difference (again if I am mistaken some please correct me but I think I am right)
And lastly, welcome to the forum
