Default 1978 Monte Carlo

We just got a 1978 Monte Carlo - my son's baby! It's a very cool car - however the ebrake is stuck and not sure how to release it. Any help would be very much appreciated!!!

Thank you!!
April

Welcome to the forum - Someone else will chime in about the e-brake (I've not had a MC before) I did have a 1982 Malibu Diesel boy what a engine...

I do believe that the ebrake attaches inside the back brake drums. Best thing you can do is go to Oreillys or a parts store and get the Chiltons Manual. They pay for themselves in no time.
pg 9-28 & 9-29. Let me see if I can get mine to scan and I will post it.
Ok I did get it to scan. See the attached files.

E brake is a cable system that pulls the brakes, the cables get weather worn or the calipers

I love my Chilton's Manual and I use it all the time when working on my 84.
Thanks to Chiltons I am gaining so much life experience while working on my 84.
And the sense of accomplishment is unreal!!
