Default 1978 Monte Carlo

Glad to be here, been meaning to do this for a long time now. I have a 1978 Monte Carlo, with factory four speed, 305 V8,bucket seats, console, air and power steering. It is in need of a re-build though. I have been thinking of either selling it or restoring it. Does anyone know how many '78 4 speed Monte Carlos were built? I have heard that they were built in Canada, I seem to recall a Canada sticker on the door, but it has been a long time.

Any info would be appreciated. thanks

Well I did find something from another source but I myself cannot prove it's veracity...
" They built 90 of them in Canada. GM Canada built them special order for Iran for police enforcement, but did not take them. So GM distributed between the provinces."

Clay:
Heres a little bit of info you may find encouraging...

All Monte Carlo's were Built in Manitoba Canada!
Regardless of the model year..

4 speed Monte Carlo's are rare ... and generally a special order item.
IMO:
I would choose to restore such a rare 4 speed Monte Carlo.
I can not tell you how many have been produced in 1978...
But I would imagine not to many...

There is a phone number you can call to find out how many were actually produced in 1978.
Call this number 1-800-222-1020

you could also give them your vin# at the same time and find out what your production number could be/is.
