Default 04 monte

I have an 04 victory red with pace car interior. still in the works getting it together swapping from grey cloth. Its an LS but it saves on gas. Have a spoiler/ trunk also from a pacecar. trying to iron out the wrinkles the previous owner did to the car and improve upon the original design. Goal is to make it custom without redneck graphics, pimpin without too flashy, but still get some power out of the 3.4 without sacrificing fuel efficency. Doing a bunch of work on swapping my 97 cutlass engine I became fond of 60 degree v6 and the forum. 3.8's are gas gussling pigs. Id rather super or turbo charge a 3.4 any day. even do a port and polish and 3.5 heads. I used to be into hondas alot but its a pain in my neck finding parts for something so old and obscure as the crx. and people bothered me when I drove it. dont get me wrong I like the car and still have it but I like playing with my bowties. at least if I mess up theres 20 million in the yards. Not only that but my hondas more of a show car. Driving a car with a body kit everyday is risky.

Welcome to the site. I don't think the 3800 engine is a gas guzzler. I am getting 20 mpg with my 05 supercharged monte with only a CAI and I do a combo of city and highway driving. You might have some trouble finding mods for the 3.4 engine. You can do a search on this site to find out all of the mods out there for your engine.

3.4 is much better on gas period. No trouble finding mods really. Mostly machining and possibly welding custom headers. 60degreev6.com has my back. Im also on malibuclub.ca. Why I brought up hondas my point is as far as performance is concerned they get high horses out of those tiny engines. I would never mess with a gm made 4 banger it wouldnt hold up. 60degreev6's are small, affordable and theres mony bolt on parts people just dont know where to look. sure you can goto the boneyard get a supercharger and slap it on a 3800 and boast about it. or even buy one stock. Boring...... Thats as bad as the ford guys with the mustangs. Bolt on parts are ok. but trial and error and getting machining done that you can pop the hood all they see is a 3.4 with some red wires and red wire wrap and figure its stock inside. thats where its at. Unleash your hidden horses and dont use quaker state to do it unless you want waxy **** all over the inside of your engine. Thing about most guys are like my engines soo big. I dont haveto have a big engine if it can pack big power. I put a new 3100 (05) in my 97 cutlass. pretty much has the 3400 top end. BIG difference! stock sensors, stock computer and fuel injectors. I made it plug right up without modifying harness. its a bad ****. And it doesnt even have the goodies on it. Like I said I want the car to be able to take abuse from me for along time on a daily basis. only weakness is the stock plastic intake gaskets. They sell steel get those and your good to go. but anyways dudes im lookin for a few parts in black for my interior and some fog lights

see, look a fight broke out! lol

I'm not going to argue, to each there own. You drive a monte, i drive a monte. YAY US.

Although I do enjoy having the 3.8 along with the aftermarket it has. And I don't scoff at my 32 mpg highway / 24 mpg city. Also as far as taking the abuse? At 160,000 miles my engine hasn't let me down yet. My tranny yes, but we share that :P

my buddy builds wicked trannys. mines slipping probably because it was a rental then a white trash kid messed the car up. He's going to redo mine with racing clutches.
