My 2001 monte Carlo ss ran fine then all of a sudden it lost sppen then just turned off and would start for a few seconds then die and now it won't crank the starter and battery are both good but it just won't crank now but it did before and suggestions

 

Welcome to EL Monte forum first of all,

Car needs 3 things to run fuel, air & ignition.

By what you're saying sound a lot like a failing fuel pump. It's located under the rear seat.
It's not ignition cause if 1 coil went bad it'll still run but very rough since it'll be running on 4 out of the 6 cylinders.

See if the fuel pump hisses when you turn the ignition on but don't turn the car on, remove the seat it'll help you hear it better.
