The tires were painted RED, at first, I used a red paint stick I got from Wal-Mart. Then, after I had body work done, and the tires re-done...the guy used a oil based red paint. They look JUST the same, but the oil based paint seems to hold the color a bit longer.

Welcome! The red lettering really brings the car to life. I like it. What were your two prior Montes? Year and make?

This is only my second Monte. And if they ever come back, I'll be working on my third!

You have the more rare 2002 "Dale Earnhardt edition". They only made 3,333 of yours. A local Chevy dealer had one for sale a couple months ago. I wanted to buy it in the worst way because I like the look of the 2002 model. But don't have the extra space or cash.
haha I'm glad you pointed that out bcuz I hate looking like the "bad guy" all of the time with car models lol yupp you got the 2002 Dale Earnhardt Edition of the Signature Series which to me is better looking then the Intimidator SS

My other two Monte's were SS's as well. One was a 2001 "dark" green SS with the "surfboard" spoiler, and the other was a black on black 2002 Monte SS with the same "surfboard" spoiler. Wife sorta "made" me trade in the 2002, SHE wanted a newer car.
What she traded it in on was a "Ford Escape* (itches at the mere thought!) I cant complain tho, she IS a good woman!!

That's a nice SS collection you had. Happy to see you've continued to keep it running.
