Did you post your Top 3 for Pocono ?

Blue Sunday

Series-high nine wins in 2008. Zero in '09. It's been that kind of year for Carl Edwards and his Roush Fenway mates, who are struggling to keep up with the Hendrickes.

I have no idea why RPM signed Reed Sorenson to begin with. That guy is the luckiest guy in racing as he should be homeless, but instead he is driving what could be said as the most legendary car in motorsports.

Carl is high on my list on guys I expect to see turn it around. He'll have a good Pocono. I don't even know about Junior anymore. He had a good Indy run until he blew up, but how many times can I tell that story. Martin is still the man to beat right now and only a fool would bet against him winning. Guys like Tony and Jeff are making this a points focused season and I don't expect to see them in Victory Lane. Denny "the Hamster" Hamlin has a phenomenal record at this track - its the only track he has more then 1 win at. He won his first 2 races there. Gibb's is a weird operation in that they can only seem to make 1 driver stand out at a time. First it was Labonte, then Pony, then Hamster had a season - now it seems to be Kyle "the Gerbil" Busch, but the momentum is shifting towards Logano. See ya Kyle! How many people think Busch is gonna miss the chase?

Anyways,
1. Mark Martin
2. Carl Edwards
3. Denny Hamlin

Don't pick on me for not picking Junior! It breaks my heart, but he does better when I'm not fully behind him anyways

...Hi `Brent,
EnJoyed read'in your post & thoughts 4-Sure. I hope that Kyle doesn't make the `Chase, and then maybe he will learn how to be humble. That kid has so much talent as a driver, but not to much as a human : )

I understand your thoughts on `Jr I really thought he would turn things around this year being with Henricks , but he sure has had some bad racing luck.. I still believe that he could still drive in his father's tire tracks, but I don't think he will be able to pass him the way that he's been driving so far

I wonder if Dirty Tony can pull another win from the back of the pack ? Should be interesting race 4-Sure.

Space Picks
1. Dale Jr
2. Jeff Gordon
3. Joey Lagano

That's who I'd like 2 see Win.
Martin is on a roll
J.J. might get another one 4 he is Good : )
Flip'in Carl is due, but will it be his day ?
Maybe today we will have a Surprise Winner ?
I will be listening on MRN Radio : )

Sure miss our MCF Rac'in Reporter
`Jamie Lynn
I sure hope everything is `Ok 4 her 4 Sure.
Jamie, post zomething & let us know
OK

Rain washes out Pocono race

By DAN GELSTON, AP Sports Writer 5 hours, 28 minutes ago

  • LONG POND, Pa. (AP)—Jimmie Johnson’s White House visit will have to wait. So will the start of the Sprint Cup race at Pocono Raceway.

Steady rain postponed Sunday’s race and it has been rescheduled for 12:15 p.m. Monday.
Heavy rain hit the track Sunday morning. It let up about an hour before the scheduled 2 p.m. start and the sky brightened for driver introductions. The rain returned about 3:30 p.m. and soaked the surface again. There was light rain the rest of the afternoon, forcing the postponement.
There was also some concern about “weepers”—water that seeps up through the track following heavy precipitation on the triangle track. Pocono does not have lights and faced a time crunch to start the race.
“It’s just kind of rough to endure it when you’re here waiting for it to either rain more or rain less,” Bobby Labonte said.

Johnson, the three-time defending Cup champion, was among a group of NASCAR drivers to be honored at the White House by President Barack Obama on Monday. Johnson’s No. 48 Chevrolet was going to be parked at the White House.
NASCAR spokesman Kerry Tharp said the date of a future visit was being discussed with White House officials.
Rain also washed out qualifying on Friday, which automatically gave the pole to points leader Tony Stewart. Stewart lost his pole position and will start from the back of the pack after wrecking his car during Saturday’s practice. He leads Johnson by 192 points in the standings.
Stewart won the Pocono race in June from the rear of the field after a similar practice wreck knocked him from the pole.
Drivers had to wait about 2 1/2 hours from the scheduled green flag before the race was called. It’s the second postponement this year, following the Coca-Cola 600 in May.
“I just think being around another day won’t be fun for anybody,” Jamie McMurray said.
McMurray had been informed by Roush Fenway Racing that he can talk to other organizations about a ride for next season. Crown Royal has been with the team as sponsor for McMurray, who is in the final year of his contract. RFR officials have said they want to re-sign McMurray, but only if they can find additional sponsorship.
Crown Royal’s sponsorship was moved to Matt Kenseth’s car after Dewalt Power Tools said it would not return in 2010.
McMurray said on Sunday that two or three owners had already called him with good opportunities for next season.

Postponed at Pocono

NASCAR waited for two hours after the orginal start time but a secondary shower and weeper issues on the track made it impossible to have enough daylight on a late Sunday afternoon to begin. The race is rescheduled for noon ET Monday.

Since we got the rain delay I wanna change my picks. I don't know if I can do that, but I'm gonna. Denny wasn't fast in practice. These flat wide open tracks (like Pocono & Indy) don't require the best driver - the fastest car will win. When he won on the track he was very fast. Also, Denny has never won after a rain delay. Whatever. I should have said this to begin with:

1. Mark Martin
2. Dale Jr.
3. Jimmie Johnson

Its actually unreasonable how fast Hendrick is these days. If I wasn't a Hendrick fan I'd be bitchin' that something was unjust.
