Points and Congratulatory Remarks
Congrats to Chris (monte carlo 3831) for winning Martinsville! That was a great set of picks!
The points lead was also taken by Chris this weekend. As a matter of fac,t the top 2 in Martinsvile are the top 2 in points. I guess they're up there for a reason!

This week at Texas
This is our first "high speed" mile and a half... I do'nt really see Las Vegas as a high speed 1.5, although it is pretty close. The tighter turns, especially on exit, make this track a different kind of challenge. when a guy gets the right setup, he flies around this place. When he misses, it's a long night.
The Roush cars have traditionally been fast here as well, and several drivers have this place figured out while others struggle.
Plus, this race has started to see a trend towards long green flag runs. Last year, they ran over 200 laps under green with only 2 cautions near lap 70 or so. I remember going out drinking with friends and actually hearing both cautions on the radio on the way to the guys house. didn't know I didn't miss anything....
So lets jump on into it, shall we...
CHEVROLET TEAMS
Hendrick
At California and Las Vegas, the Hendrick cars were just decent to good, not great. Jimmie Johnson is one of the best the Hendrick group has at this place and won the last race here in that fantastic battle with Brad Keselowski.
Dale Earnhardt, Jr won his first race here in 2000 and with these new cars adn they way he was running up until MArtinsville, he might scratch out of here with a good run.
Jeff Gordon finally got a win here a few years abck adn seems to have figured the place out, but finished last here twice as well.
Kasey Kahne seems to specialize in 1.5's and is great at both Charlotte and Atlanta, two similar tracks. He doesn't seem to quite get that magic at Texas but with his momentum and that Hendrick team, he might find it this weekend.
Stewart Haas
Stewart, Newman, and PAtrick were all crap at California and Las Vegas, and Stewarts little charge into the corner on Logano that resulted in a fight was just a last hoorah before his car started going back to crap like it had been all race long. I don't look to see much out of Stewart Haas this weekend.
Richard Childress
In general, beer cars don't run well at this track, so I'm not looking for a lot out of Kevin Harvick. Paul Menard seems to run well at this track in the spring so Meanrd might snake a top 5 out of this thing. Is Burton worth mentioning?
Earnahrdt Ganassi
McMurray's fiar run at Martinsville almost warrnats him being worht talking abouti. he might run okay again at Texas now that they have Darth Hendrick behind them, we'll see.
FORD TEAMS
Roush Racing
I feel like the team to beat this weekend might be Carl Edwards. The guy has more wins at Texas than anyone and seems to haev found some of his mojo that got lost in 2012. If Carl practices and qualifies well, I say Carl might have the car to beat on Saturday night. Plus, he has the crew chief who won this race two years ago.
Greeg Biffle won last year but doesn't seem to have the magic they last year. We'll see how it goes.
And whiel Stenhouse hasn't finished top 10 yet, he is close. Stenhouse might run good this weekend too!
Penske
Brad Keselowski always seemed to fall victim to the beer car curse until last year. With help from Roush Fenway and his already steller talent, I think BRad Keselowski might be a driver to watch at Texas too1
Joey Logano is running better with his new team as well!
Wood Bros
Trevor Bayne should be back with the Wood Bros this weekend and he had a really fast car until hitting the wall last year. I wonder if his limited time in cup cars will hurth im though.
Petty
While the Fords are fast Texas, I just don't see Petty having the fastest Fords'. He almost had his cars repossed by Jack Roush here in 2010.
With the combination of all the above going on, I think Ford will be the manufacturer to watch in Texas
TOYOTA TEAMS
Joe Gibbs
With Matt Kenseht knowing what hte Ford's did to win on 1.5s, and already having won a 1.5 this year, and his already strong talent on 1.5s, I think Kenseth will probably be a dominate car on Saturdya night... if those TRD engine woes don't show up again!
Kyle Busch always seems to get in trouble in this race.. but in the fall... and usually outside the car.
Michael Waltrip Racing
It seems like the team has fallen off a little since last year. I don't foresee the MWR cars dominating at Texas juding by waht we've seen so far.
My Picks
Very subject to change... not feeling too confident this weekend.
1) Brad Keselowski
2) Carl Edwards
3) Jimmie Johnson

Finally got the points done.
I had a pretty big action packed weekend. Two cruise in, 4 hours and 750 rounds worth of target plinking with friends, a NASCAR race, and had to be back at work... then had to mow the grass today and errands yesterday!
Life caught up on me more than usual and with daylight savings time, I just didn't have time to get the poitns sorted out as quickly as my own standards hold me to and for that, I apologize.
Now my dad is talking about trying to make a speed run to Florida this weekend. We'll see how it goes and I'll keep everyone posted.
