Picks/Texas/Sat. Night
Well, I'm not getting off the Junior wagon now. It is inevitable that he'll eventually have a bad race. But right now he is about the only Sprint Cup driver who hasn't had a bad race. I do agree that the Fords will likely dominate. But the Vegas bookies are actually picking Junior as the odds on favorite to win too. I dunno. But I think qualifying will say volumes about how the race will finish. But then, Junior never qualifies well. For now I'll just pick some more of the regular players...
1. Dale Jr
2. Carl Edwards
3. Matt Kenseth

Didn't that say top 5?
I still think Junior has a real crack at winning. He qualified better then I thought he would when I picked him to win. I'm quite comfortable with my picks. Carl would have done a lot better without the "flutter" - I think he'll be fine.
Those MWR Toyota's sure look good, don't they? That's becoming the leading Toyota team over JGR...

After an off week, I'm ready to get back to watching racing. I love night racing... get to go outside and get work done without missing a race... come in and relax while watching NASCAR.
I'm also adjusting my picks... looks like Stewarts lucky streak may or may not be over. I'm getting on another Ford and going with... TREVOR BAYNE!!!!
That's right.. .he made his first cup start here. He won his first Nationwide race here. He was fastest in 2nd practice. And I think he is going to win his first "real" Cup race here... maybe this weekend!!!

I may be going to a friend of mines lake house to have a few drinks and relax tomorrow evening. Don't know if I'll be around to calculate points or not to be perfectly honest. I'll see if I can keep you posted on if I go or not.. thinking I will.
Duane, Have a Good time we will..
I love the night races, but I'm always mentally spent from a long day when I calculate the points for them anyway.
Ricky Stenhouse just won... and of all weird $hit that has happened this year, some lights went out due to a bad relay. I hate electrical gremlins, hope the track guys aren't beating themselves up over it.
I like Bayne, but I wonder if Roush is giving him enough stuff to possibly win this race. Will he have a good enough pit crew ? What about a crew chief to make those right calls as the race winds down? I'll question these things....
Toyota engines were dropping like flys tongiht in a 300 mile race . How much different is the cup engine? Will the 'Yotas last 500 miles tomorrow night?
