Right now, the pre race ceremonies are going. I'm closing the window as of right now. I may reopen it if it starts raining before the green flag drops.


I don't feel bad for anyone if the forum crashed. This thread has been open for 8 days now. If I didn't make these threads until Saturday, it would be different.

Go Paul Menard, as I am sure no one else picked him along with Kurt Busch. Oh yea, Hunter picked Kurt too, Imagine his roster without a shrub in it. That's like mine without Harvick.

I haven't been too fond of that RCR team this year. This is their best track, but that cometition director went to MWR, they just haven't had it. Can't hold dropping Harvick against you!

Yes I saw that too, but are picks invalid that are placed at the time i did? when must they be submitted by?

I've spent most of the race listening to Kurt Busch's scanner. aka "Ricky Bobby". I think they got something really cool going on. Of course, I'm a big fan of Talladega Nights. If you haven't noticed, the car is painted with the "ME" scheme from the movie, with cougar "Karen" on the hood. They have been quoting the movie back and forth all race. The last lap before green Kurt made a prayer to "beautiful 8 lb 6oz baby Jesus" and thanked KFC, Domino Pizza & "Powerade Blue Mountain Myst". Later had said he "wakes up and pisses excellence". I just can't wait to hear him say "Dale Jr is my best friend... and it's Shake N' Bake time!!!"

Jimmie's out and my picks go into the crapper.... but Junior leads and Ricky Bobby is pushing him!!!

Anyone else notice that we aren't watching the race? Appears to me we are watching commercials with a little race thrown in. Nascar is getting stupid with this.:thumbsdown:

That was a point changer there for some of you. Hopefully harvick and Busch will remain on lead lap for me. I saw my hopes dwindle quick with the running out of gas episodes.

I think Harvick got lucky there running out of gas....

I've been outside helping dad rig up an electric choke on his Fairlane. We got a free carburetor from a junkyard because it was stopped up... but all we wanted was the $60 choke off of it!! (That's what the Edelbrock kit costs). And we've got it right as far as we can tell.


I've got to decide waht to do with adgm2005. I've already disqualified his picks once, at Texas I believe it was.. The rule is 1 hour before the race. He posted 5 mins after I did. So the race wasn't going, but the engines were probably started.

Almost everyone had either Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, or Carl Edwards. 77GP, bblackstone, hunter, and a few others are in contention. Hard to s ay how this one is going to shake out.

Now we're talking fuel mileage..... it's hard to say who is going to win this race. Hamster just ut a lot more litter on the race track.

Harvick parked it. Stewart getting a lot of work done. I think everyone has lost a car at some point.

Nice job AJ. this would have been a good finish now it will be who ever get out front on the restart. The green white checkered is lame on super-speedways most of the time.

Trying to get my other ocmputer with the spreadsheets up. I think that computer is slowly dying. The internet keeps screwing up on it.

Considering I lost a car, I didn't do all that bad I don't think. Guess we'll see once the points get calculated.

It was close at the front... I shouldn't have invited Rick though... once he gets back from Talladega, he should be happy to know he is the WINNER!!!! Since this is the first race of Segment 2, he is also the segment points leader. I calculated adgm2005, but his points will not go to his tally. He was too late. The rule is 1 hour before green flag. JuniorCar Brent now holds a more narrow lead goign to Darlington, but the real tight run is for 3rd place. 3rd-8th are very tight..... but the rest of the points are starting to space out and everyone seems to be settled into a position in the points right now. Brent, however, has been settled into 1st spot for 10 races now! He is making a run at my 14 straight weeks as the points leader closing last season!!


Congrats again to Ricks 2006 SS for winning his first time out at Talladega!! A couple of people have done that... I believe 4 have won in their first race. Beginners luck! Lets see if he can keep it up!
