I wouldn't go so far as to say it doesn't count. It doesn't score points towards the championship. But its as important as any other race otherwise IMO

Montoya still rolling but I don't see a chance that I'll win at all now...
Some observations
1) GREAT RACING!!!! The two car draft seems to be much harder, pack racing and if you're very daring, two car drafting for a temporary period.
2) DANICA PATRICK NEEDS TO SHUT UP!!! She is a rookie with 1 IRL win under her belt and a 4th place finish in a Nationwide race due to a fuel mileage run.
3) No one has pointed out the insane closing rate between these cars when they get more than about 2-3 car lengths between them....
4) Very fast, very insane, very exciting.

Can you gusy believe my luck though wit hthat wreck? I drew 3 numbers. The drivers drew numbers by chance ,no qualifying invovled. Three crappy drivers drew my numbers. And on top of that, all of them were involved in a wreck on lap 9 and I was out of this race by the intermission.
I drew names last year at the July Daytona race and ran like ****. If Ido'nt getsomething going in the duels, I might revise the Daytona 500 plan.
This strategy has earned me some top 5's at Talladega though...

And be as wary as you can be if Martin Truex gets behind you...
it looks like this Daytona and Talladega racing is going back to the need for a strong car and the ability to race in these packs to win these races.... I seriously may need to revise my restricter plate picking strategies.
