Blazed I just checked your walk around video and what a ride you have there. Love the engine compartment. Everything is so sexy in there. That top bar I'll just call it a stabilizer bar for now but does it really make a difference? I mean if you were to take it off would you feel right away? What exactly does it do?

I haven't checked the picture in question but if it's on top, it's probably a shock tower brace.. .designed to keep the front framework of the car from flexing. never ran my car without it to know the difference... V6 Mustangs don't come with them, GT's do, all SS Monte's came with a three brace set up....

Duane , Not all Monte Carlo SS came with the strut tower brace.. GM stopped installing them after 2003 model .. My 2005 SS came without one I had to install one..

I have driven both my monte carlo SS & my wife's Impala SS with out the strut brace.. an it is better with the brace why GM got cheap an didn't install them on the later year's I don't know..

I also have no strut tower brace.

JGR has been strong here, but they sucked in practice. The MWR Toyotas might have some speed. Kahne was strong in practice and he should be better than he is. I'm going out on a limb picking him because he always sucks when I do. If he blows this one, I swear I'll never pick him again...

1. Dale Jr
2. Kasey Kahne
3. Kevin Harvick
