Points and Congratulatory Remarks
And so we have two more of these to go this year. It's been a long, hard fought season. Last week, RocknSS04, Wayne, won his 2nd race out of the last 4, which has helped him gain a several point lead in the Segment 4 point standings. I have stretched out my overall lead to the largest so far this season.
Segment 4:
1) RocknSS04 717 Leader
2) Teacher 705 -12
3) Cowboy6622 703 -14
4) montecarlo3831 680 -37
5) zJerry 676 -41
6) 77GP 675 -42
7) JuniorCar 668 -49
8) KidSpace 666 -51
9) lougreen03 658 -59
10) 03JGMonte 640 -77
Overall Points:
1) Cowboy6622 3345 Leader
2) 77GP 3275 -70
3) montecarlo3831 3267 -78
4) zJerry 3260 -85
5) KidSpace 3251 -94
6) JuniorCar 3236 -109
7) RocknSS04 3181 -164
8) lougreen03 3147 -198
9) 03JGMonte 1861
10) Teacher 1576

Intro to Pheonix
We're going into yet another chase wild card. However, I don't think Phoenix will be much different. What will vary is that the track will probably be a bit like Bristol or O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis. In that sense, I suspect hte drivers who have run a lot of Busch/Nationwide races over the years will have a slight edge as they know how to use the graduated banking. So I look at guys like Carl Edwards, Kyle Busch, Kevin Harvick, Joey Logano (for a long shot), Dennis Hamster, Brad Keselowski, and a guys like that.
Phoenix Histoyr
For you Alan Kulwicki fans, it was the site of the first "Polish Victory Lap." Alan's first win came at this place.

Hendrick Motorsports
Jeff Gordon is the defneding winner and is running good in the late part of the season, just some bad luck has kept him out of contention (fuel mileage and engines, mainly). Gordon also has a crew chief who lvoes setting up a flat track car. Jimmie Johnson is good on this track as well. Dale Jr. has won here, but I don't think he likes graduated banking. Mark MArtin is good her,e but just don't trust Lance McGrew to keep it together for him.
Stewart Haas Racing
Stewart is a case of hot and cold at Phoenix. He either runs top 5, or late teens-twenties. Right now, he is hot, and I do'nt suspect he will run much worse than a top 5 barring bad luck this weekend. The question is really how will he adapt to the graduated banking. He didn't adapt well at Bristol, but Bristol is a short track, a type of track Stewart struggled on this year until Martinsville.
Newman won here iin '09 or so, so he might just sneak back into the winners circle....
Roush Fenway Racing
Carl Edwards loves graduated banking... loves Bristol, loves that track in Indianapolis, loves Phoenix, is the defending winner, and had the fastest car in the spring until Pyle Buschit wrecked it. I look for Carl to make a really strong run to show that he is still the man to win this championship this weekend.
Matt Kenseth is another hot and cold driver on this track. With the way the Ford's are running, I believe he would be another solid chocie this weekend.
GreG Biffle and David Ragan are both having bad luck righ tnow... Biffle's good run at Texas was a miracle as far as I am concerned. Flat tracks aren't really the Roush-Fenway speciality
Joe Gibbs Racing
I think Kyle Busch will come back with more spring in his step, try to get back onto the "NeW Kyle Busch" image, and maybe even win Phoenix. He is a great driver on tracks with graduated banking, great on this track type, and I like his chances for this weekend.
Dennis Hamster should have won last year, but he is running badly this year nad his top 5 at Martinsville was another borderline miracle.
Joey Logano ran well in this race last year... and he has the NAtionwide experience
Richard Childress
Still say the only driver in this stable to watch out for is Kevin Harvick. Burton only took a chance at Texas that didn't work, taht's theo nly reason he was tlaked abotu as much as he was. Harvick is a good driver on this track though, not his best, but he's good here. And with the way he is running, he cna sneak a top 5 in for you any day it seems.
Penske Racing
Don't know what to say about Brad K. and Kurt Busch. Brad K. seems to have fallen off his band wagon. Kurt Busch isn't running very consistent. I say these two are risky choices that could pay off.
Random @$$Hats
Montoya can run well here. Maybe he wrekcs a championship contender, maybe he doesn't. Kasey Khane also likes htis track. He's running well as the season closes out and could get an upset win at Phoenix.
My Picks
I want the guys who have experience at this track, and experience and a love for tracks with graduated banking. Therefore, I am going to go with this combination, subject to change after practice and qualifying:
1) Carl Edwards
2) Kyle Busch
3) Jeff Gordon
Have fun guys, and lets have a great ending to a great year!

Brent is making a charge since I posted thati t was unanimous Delana!!!
I gave Brent the honors of getting to beat up Kyle Busch since he gave him this forums nickname, "Pyle Bulchit" or whatever he says. Plus, he is always calling out Gibbs on the oil pan thing at Michigan.
If any of you want any help or a resource for making fantasy picks, hceck this out.

Brent, you may be interested in their one to watch: Mark Martin!! Hasn't finished worse than 16th since 2001 at Phoenix.. broke a big winless streak here too in '09. Will you go iwth your man?
