Default Picks/New Hampshire/Sun Afternoon

I still have to work up the results for Kentucky, but wanted to put this thread up first. Been a crazy few days, and spent a good chunk of that on the northern plains where I had no data. Time to buy a prepaid Verizon jetpack for when I'm in that part of the country.

Anyway, Sunday is New Hampshire. Because of the similarity in the turns, this race is usually a good indication for who will do well next week at Indianapolis as well. Chad Knaus was on SXM Speedway with Dave Moody the other day and said that they use a lot of what they see at Loudon to set up their Indy car.

This is also the beginning of Segment 3 so those who missed races in segment 2 (or did horribly like myself) have a fresh chance at a title.

I'll probably change my picks after qualifying since track position is everything here.

Kyle Busch

Jimmie Johnson

Leprechaun93 wins Segment 2. He went on an absolute tear starting with the Coke 600 and has won 4 of the last 6 racse. 5 of the last 7 if you count the All Star Race. 77gp and zjerry are the only 2 within striking distance at the moment, although carlm54stl, drivernumber3, and 02 Earnhardt can pull themselves back into contention with some solid performances.

I'm not mathematically eliminated, but it would certainly take a Kyle Busch- type performance over the last half of the season for me to have a shot.

Guys, be advised that Dale Earnhardt Jr will NOT be racing this weekend at New Hampshire. We won't know until next Wednesday whether he will be racing at Indianapolis next weekend either.

Interesting news yesterday. If Dale Jr is not cleared to race at Indianapolis, Jeff Gordon will drive the 88. I was listening to the press conference live when they announced it and my jaw hit the floor.

I just realized that we'll probably be in Nebraska at the conclusion of the race. Big data hole for me. I'll be asleep when they're running anyway, so if my co-driver makes Lincoln or Omaha on his shift, I'll score it before I take off on mine. Otherwise it'll wait till Monday morning when I get to Minnesota.
