Picks/Martinsville/Sunday Afternoon
NEW RULES THIS WEEK! PLEASE READ BEFORE PICKING
After controversy and general mayhem over something I am willing to assume full responsibility for (that being the rule allowing one to pick a driver multiple times), I have decided to repeal my decision made before Daytona and make the rules back to the way they were last year.
This means, you must pick three drivers. Three picks, three drivers. No more picking the same driver multiple times. You only pick a driver once. Order will determine tie breakers.
Points, Intro, and Congratulatory Remarks
Congrats to bblackstone, another critic of the all-in rule who benefited from it! (All the big critics of the rule won a race under it). But that rule is put to pasture, and he will be the last person to be able to win a race like that pending another rule change.
JuniorCar holds the points lead, but only by a slim 3 point margin over Butch!!!

Defending Winner: 77GP, who won this race last year getting 1-2-3 in order, scoring 133 poitns.
Now Jerry scored 133 points last year by calling 1-2-3 in order. Some of you may ask then why STUMPMI and SuperSportSTeve did the same thing last week only getting 132 points. The reason was that Kevin Harvick, Kyle Busch, and Dale Jr had all led laps last year, and Busch had led the most. Last week, Stewart had led a lap, Busch ahd led the most, and Jr had not led any. Therefore, one point was missing.
Rundown for Martinsville
Short tracks are all prone to streaks. Petty won 15 times here. Waltrip won many races here. Gordon owned this place for a long time. Johnson won this race many times. Hamlin took it from him.
Right now, Martinsville seems to be going through a transition. Johnson and Hmalin both ran well last year, but Harvick and STewart won the races. Those usual don't seem to be the usuals right now.
Guys like Jr, Gordon, and Stewart have pulled out some good finishes here, along with guys like Kyle Busch.
Hendrick Motorsporst
If Kahne can keep his car going straight, it's hard to say what will happen.
Quite frankly, an all Hendrick team might be a good choice. Jr ran well in all the races here last year, he has the momentum going, and things are going his way. Gordon seems unlucky this year, but Johnson is silently running strong, the penalty is off his back, and Martinsville is a great track for him. Luck fell his way at California, and luck goes a long way in this business...
Richard Childress Racing
Jeff Burton almost won this race a couple of years ago. It's a home race for him, he's running better this year, so keep and eye on Burton.
Harvick is tough to beat here. Keep an eye on him too. Mr. Where did he come from might just do it agian.
Menard.... this is the point in a year when he starts falling off.
Stewart Haas
Newmans fat @$$ isn't in nearly enough shape to turn a hard left 1000 times.
Stewart is fat, but he can muslce a car around Martinsville. Good track for him, and it is where his championship run started last year!!!!!!!!!
Joe Gibbs Racing
Dennis Hamster used to own this palce, but like Johnson before him, and Gordon before Johnson, I feel that htis track is slipping away from him. A new king of a Martinsville is emerging. WE don't know who that will be....
Could it be Pyle O'Bulschit? He's been running better and better here lately... better watch out.
This is also one of KidSpace's hereos, Joey Logano, better tracks.
Penske Racing
I don't know if we can expect Allmendinger and Keselowski to be around much. Neither guys come to mind when you think Martinsville, but that isn't to say they won't run well. Allmendinger led laps here in the fall in the 43, adn I was there to see it!!!
Roush Fenway Racing
This is another team to avoid. I think it is a lot of things. The Ford engines run better when kept in a high RPM range. The Ford drivers just don't run Martinsville too well. However, every once in a while, Matt Kenseth puts together a really strong run here. And Edwards puts a win at this track on his bucket list. I don't see it happening and am not betting on it.
And that's coming from a Ford man. This is our worst track... seriously.
Petty Motorsports
Refer to previous post, but insert Ambrose and Almirola.
Actually, Ambrose has run okay here. Underdog.
But here is the thing about the Ford's....
There are just too many good Chevrolet and even Toyota drivers that run so well here to try to risk a pick on a Ford in my opinion.
My Picks
I really want Dale Jr... but too many of you guys are zombie Jr fans, so I'm not getting in that boat just in case it capsizes.
I'm going to try doing this with....
1) Tony Stewart
2) Denny Hamlin
3) Jeff Gordon

I knew we would have some all in Hendrick picks.... I wanted to do that myself, but I figured you guys would do the same thing and we would all either share victory or share defeat...
Everyone but me so far thinks Jr is going to pull out another good finish. I think he will too, but I also think there are too many people on that boat for it to float very long.
