Default Picks/Kentucky/SaturdayNight

I'm MAY need someone to do points this Saturday night as I will be out of town. I should be back in time to do a Daytona thread!

Points and Congratulatory Remarks

Congrats to 02 Earnhardt for a lot of things! He won Sonoma, his 2nd win in the past three races, and he is the new Segment points leader! Congrats to Blazed SS for continuing to lead the overall points.

To encourage people to look at the stats thread, and to save me copying and pasting things 3-4 times, I will refer you to the stats thread to see the points going into Kentucky.

Rundown for the Quaker State 400

Remember, if you love your car, don't pour Quaker State in it!!

If you can get that part down, you've got a good chance of living a long happy life!

Now, as to this week, the Gibbs cars have won 2 out of 3, with Brad K stealing a win from them in the other race. Lots of Nationwide races have been contested here, but this will only be the fourth cup race. This could be the week Kenseth gets that elusive win!!!

But Gordon and Johnson run really well here too! Neither has won here, and I think it owuld be cool to watch a classic Jeff v. Jimmie battle to see who can win Kentucky!! Kasey Kahne has good stats here and Goonyer is really good.

Plus, Hendrick has a really good chance to win here because they NO LONGER RUN QUAKER STATE IN THEIR CARS!!! Srsly, they were good last year, but not this good!!!

2013:

See that? That mess is probably for like 15th or something....

Compared to this year....

(Check hte C-Post on each car)

Need I say more?

Penske does well here too, despite running Pennzoil (almost as crappy as Quaker State), since both drivers have a lot of Nationwide experience here.

Edwards has strategized to run well here before, and really wants to do well since he'll be running UPS paint job with UPS being based out of Kentucky.... rest of the Roush gang is in some sort of survival mode.

Then there's hte MWR cars that seem to be doing better but not there yet and pretty unlucky... must be Karma......

So that leaves me with my all FoMoCo rule to apply...

1) Brad Keselowski
2) Joey Logano
3) Carl Edwards

Remember class, what kind of oil are you going to put in your Monte Carlos?????

I always run Quaker State in my car if anything since I switched to Quaker State the car runs better. I use Quaker State Defy. It's a synthetic blend and seems to let the engine spin a good deal easier. I like it.

What rating is the oil (5w 30, 5w 20, etc?) , and have you ever run a real mans oil like Royal Purple, Amsoil, or Mobil 1?

I use the manufacturer recommended 10w-30. I've also read where the formula for Mobil-1 has changed and that it's not quite as good as it used to be. Mobil-1 and the others are almost twice the price and I'm just not sure if they are really worth that extra money. Royal Purple is pretty pricey from what I've seen.

It is, but it's full syntehtic. Synthetic blends are border line criminal in marketing. They imply that it is 50/50 mix, but it's not. It can be as little as like 10% synthetic and legally be marketed as a "synthetic blend" the last I heard - that may have changed. Honestly, you're better off buying like 2 quarts synthetic and 3 quarts regular oil if that's what you want.
