Defending Winner: JuniorCar

Another congrats as well to carlm54stl for winning at Texas, and climbing to 3rd in the points!!! Congrats, buddy!

This Week

Kansas is known for long runs and even fuel mileage racing. After Texas, we all know damn good and well what a long green run is!! I'd rather have it that way than NASCAR throwing a bunch of BS debris cautions.

WE can expect more of the same this week. Less banking, so it isn't as fast. Hendrick and Roush are those cars to watch out for this weekend.

I think the Las Vegas runs will also be good indications for this race too since the tracks are very similar.

Hendrick Motorsports

Is there a monkey on the back of this team to not get that 200th win? Maybe they should just leave the hats at home? It's got to come soon though. I think anyone but Kahne would be agood pick, and if Kahne can get that luck turned around, he would be a solid pick too. Johnson is the best one at this track though for this team.

Roush Fneway Racing

What can we say about them that we don't already know. Without David Ragan pulling them down, the new slow guy on the team is Carl Edwards. Edwards has always wanted a Kansas win, so we have to wonder if he'll finally pull it off. He was good at Las Vegas, a similar track.

Stewart Haas Racing

Brad Keselowski said taht Stewartwas so good because of the tire configuration they run on these 1.5's that just suited his style. He had a big hiccup at Texas though. A lot of members picked him and it idnd't pay off. Newman only wins on tracks that don't have bends in the straightaway it seems.

Joe Gibbs Racing

They had that initial good run at Phoenix, but the luck, the equipment, and everything just isn't there for them this year. Hamlin is the only guy with good cars and they just arne't having the luck to put them into a good position.

Michael Waltrip Racing

This is the lead Toyota team right now. Truex and Martin are running so well!!!

I have a great observation on Mark Martin, Brent, correct me if I'm wrong.

Everytime Mark MArtin joines a new team, he runs well. He ran that 8 car when Jr left in '08, nearly won Daytona nad led the points until he stepped aside. Then he nearly won the championship his first year at Hendrick. Now he is running well in every race he runs for Waltrip. What gives?

Penske Racing

This is about the point in the season where I start to wonder howm uch the team had together before announcing going to Ford. I wonder how much Dodge will support this team knowing they won't have them next year. I just don't know what to say about them. They aren't running extremely well, but then again, last year Dodge just suddenly went on a tear and started dominating races... then as quickly as they rose, they fell again.... watch for them in practice I guess.

Petty Motorsports

Srsly? Ambrose just had his good 1.5 mile track. Hard to say what he will do really. Almirole is a good to 20 driver, but not consistent or solid enough to really pick I don't think.

Richard childress Racing

YEar after year, Harvick proves to be the rock that team is built on while the other two teams struggle. I thought this might be the year for Jeff Burton to shine... but alas, he is in that Dale Jarrett/Bill Elliott can't do right ofr anything stage of his career.

My Picks

I made a stupid mistake and deserved to lose points last week. I should have known better than pick a part time team to run that well. But I won't do that again this week!!!

1) Mark Martin (running too well to ignore, top Toyota man right now!)
2) Matt Kenseth (solid and consistent)
3) Jimmie Johnson (Kansas is such a great track for him... and its where they got win 199)

This is subject to change but....

Biffle
Harvick
Junior

I may switch that last pick depending on how practice goes but I'm pretty set on Biffle and Harvick. They've done me well all season long.

The Martin trivia is off a bit. He nearly won Daytona the year before he drove the #8 when the US ARMY car was still the 01 Ginn Racing car. But it was a new team for him (after he finally left Roush). DEI acquired Ginn Racing mid-season and Martin landed in the #8 the next season. He never achieved too much in the #8, but that team was in the crapper.
I like Martin cause he's a good guy. He's always been easy to be a fan of because he never does anything to embarrass me as a fan. But he still needs the best equipment to win, and that MWR team is just showing such remarkable improvement this year. It doesn't matter whose in the 55, they're running well. But that'll probably go right out the window when Micheal drives it himself

So I'll make some early pics
1. Dale Jr
2. 55 (is it Martin or Vickers?)
3. Jimmie Johnson

Default puting his foot down

johnson will not tolerate another almost race. He finaly gets the 200. I was leaning towards junior. He has to start falling apart soon. This will be the weekend. Sorry jr fans just one nascar fans thoughts. Its not hate. Gorden is fustrated but i have to go with him. No way stewart stinks two weeks in a row. If i remember correctly. I think he should have won kansas last year if not for the pit crew. 14 pushes the 48 to the win nudging out the 24.

48-24-14. In that order.

Picks subject to change.
