It sucks that Jr didn't win, but I was happy to see the #24 Chevy of Jeff Gordon hold off the 3 JGRacing Toyotas finishing 2nd, 3rd and 4th! Toyota has never won Indy - for one more year at least!

Peblo still sucks!

That's kinda fitting for 77GP since he lives probably 45 minutes to an hour from the track.

And Hamlin's penalty won't be anywhere near as severe as it should be. Probably $500 and 1 point. I don't get it. It's not like the car finished with too low of a ride height. They deliberately cheated and totally changed the outcome of the race. Wasn't Hamlin dominating and trapped half a dozen good cars down a lap? Some of those guys never recovered. But the penalty is seldom as much a the purse money difference of one finishing position. I wish they'd make cheater sit races out more. That would hurt (big sponsor $$ loss)

Well, the penalty is in and it is pretty severe.

$125,000 fine, 75 points and Darien Grubb is suspended for 6 races.

That's not the intimate details, but that's the short of it. Its a good thing no members picked him - they could have actually been in the hole for the day.

I think Hamlin (or Hamlin's team) really deserve it. They really screwed a lot of teams out of a race. I specifically remember him staying out under caution and in the lead to ensure there was no wave around. He trapped a lot of good teams down a lap. Kurt Busch and Brad K were both caught up in that (the latter received the lucky dog eventually). Hamlin should not have even been in that spot.

But 75 points is as severe as I can remember. That pretty much a 2 race penalty. The money is more like the equivalent of about 15 finishing positions. So while he may not be able to give back what he stole from the other teams, this may deter them from future cheatings. I still would have rather seen a 2 race suspension, but this is hardly the drivers fault I suppose.

I don't trust Darien Grubb. He is a "good" crew chief who stole that last Championship Pony Stewart got. I never bought into that being legit either...
