Default Picks/Dover/SunAfternoon

Not going to do a rundown just yet... but will post a few little things...

Points and Congratulatory Remarks

First off, congrats to butch049 for pulling off a win in a three way tie breaker at New Hampshire! Tha'ts his first win this season since the All Star race, and puts him in a great position to start the Segment going to Dover!!!

The results of the New Hampshire race are also the Segment points... so butch leads that one as well! But he's in a tie wtih Ricks 2006 SS and carlm54stl.

Overall, the lead is up to 89 points... but Dover is historically a terrible track for me nad Talladega still looms large out there....

Dover

As racy and competitive as this track is, most winners of this race will come from the first two rows, historically. So watch qualifying and adjust your picks accordingly! Also, pit road is very tight and easy to get messed up on... getting a good pit box is essential to a good race here.

CHEVROLET

Hendrick

The practically undisputed king of Dover is Jimmie Johnson. for the last two races, eh's trying to become the all time winner here and might just do it. Third time is the charm, right?

Jeff Gordon needs to get soemthing going in the right direction and has run well at Dover as of late.

Dale Jr hasn't run well at Dover in awhile..

Kasey Khane just seems too unlucky to worry about...

Stewart HAas

Newman is putting together decent runs sometimes... but when you think Dover, you normally don't think Wreckin' Ryan. Hard to say what will happen....

Mark Martin is so good at Dover, and will have STewarts setup from June..... but Martin just seems like he is logging the laps.

Childress

Up until a year or so ago, Jeff Burton had the best average finish at Dover. Burton finished 8th at New Hampshire, so it would be fun to think Burton could maybe squeeze out one more win here at Dover.

Harvick is good everywhere, and getting better at Dover in recent years.

Furniture Row

Busch was good here in the spring... but will the whole team put together a reliable car and keep the pit stops just perfect to keep him in contention?

TOYOTA TEAMS

Gibbs

This seems to be the best team in the business right now... can they go 1-2 again?

Denny Hamlin generally sucks here.... and with the bad year he is having, I don't see that changing somehow.

Matt Kenseth is on such a hot streak adn Dover is such a good track for Matt. With the past two outings resulting in wins and the confidence he has, it's hard to bet against him. However, a lot of people are picking up, so going the "long shot route" might win you a race this weekend if he has bad luck.

Kyle Busch is also awesome right now.... Busch does very well at Dover, usually, and has won this thing a couple of times.

Michael Waltrip Racing

It's ironic... the team was on top of the world, two years in a row with two drivers in the chase.... now their sponsors are leaving or thereatning to leave and teh team is fighting for survival. It seems to be getting in teh psyche of Clint Bowyer.

Truex, on the other hadn, got his first win at Dover and is probably driving for a career right now. Watch out for him.

FORD TEAMS

Roush

Roush used to uber pwn at this track. Now Jimmie Johnson does. But those Roushketeers still know a thing or two about making turns at Dover.

Carl Edwards has a great reputation here at this track, and Carl still has some momentum going from Richmond, Ihope.

Greg Biffle feels great about his run at New Hampshire and finishing 3rd. He's also good at Dover.

Penske

Brad K was never good at Dover until he won last year. Joey Logano has been decent here before, ever since he flipped that car in one of his first runs here. That yellow and red 22 has always been a car to deal with here.

PEtty

For some reason, the 43 usually runs well at Dover... usually back when AJ Allmendinger drove it. Hard to bet on Penske

The 9 seems to have that one run in the race every week where they're right there mixing it up with everyone else. But they're never there at the end.

My Picks

1) Kyle Busch
2) Carl Edwards
3) Jimmie Johnson
