Experience pays off at DArlington! You usually don't see your Kyle Larson's and Austin Dillon's running well here... or even your Joey Logano's and Ricky Stenhouse Jr's for that matter!
Usually, the "old guns" like your Jeff Gordon, Matt Kenseth, Jimmie Johnson, Greg Biffle tend to run well and dominate at Darlington. It takes a mature driver with a mindset to let a race come to him and to focus on racing the track to win.
Although Danica finished every race she ever started here.....
I used to not care for Darlington... but as the cookie cutter 1.5's came to dominate in the late 90's and early 2000's, and as I gained more and more appreciation for the sport, Darlington has come to hold a special place in my heart....
You get two chances a year to win Daytona, Talladega, Charlotte..... but if you don't win Darlington, it will be 365 more days before you get another one..
You're all welcome to take a ride with me and my Torino around Darlington as wlel! My mmom kept recording as we went out of the track, then turned around to come back in to pick up my dad...
So with all that said, my picks are going to be...
