I think they'll get the race off tonight. I'm concerned that TSN may not broadcast it live in Canada. We get ESPN, but the CRTC blocks viewing of it on ESPN because TSN has bought the Canadian right to show Nascar racing, but that doesn't mean TSN will show it. They jerk me around for just about everything and they are likely to show Curling or a horse show instead. When TSN does show it it is the exact same ESPN coverage, but they can show it whenever they want. Doesn't make much sense, does it? Not every free country is as free as America! As it was, it was to be broadcast on TSN Alternate (like a TSN2), which not everybody does get - I pay top dollar for good television coverage. TSN's primary channel was too busy showing CFL football, which sucks.

At least I'll have RaceBuddy and TrackPass no matter what...

WEll guys, I have to go to college soon. I might catch it tonight if they run it. Tomorrow is fine for me.. not as good as today, but okay anyway. I have no classes tomorrow. I'm in the schools as part of my Practicum experience (kind of like our internships) from 7:30-10:45 tomorrow. after that, I'm opneall jday!!!

I hate it all day long for these guys. They work from Friday to Sunday... their weekend is basically Monday and Tuesday, even then, they're in the shop. When these guys have to run on Monday, you're basically asking these guys on Friday afternoon as they're about to go homje, "Hey why don't you come in and work a Saturday tomorrow?" That's my reasoning for supporting rain tires on road courses. The drivers hate it... but they have mobile homes too. There are thousands of people in the media, the production teams, the anchors, the pit crews, the officials, and not even to mention fans, who all have to change hotel reservations, book flights all over again, and it's just a logistical nightmare to change the times for these races like this. I say if there is a way to run the race, run the race. The fans and the teams deserve to.

Back when Michael Waltrip won Dayton only having to run 102 laps due to rain, my girlfriend and I did take the extra day just in case they would have a delay. The officials cut it short to 102 laps, I was freaking po'd... It's the fans that lose out when rain delays the race, the heck with the other guys in the crew, they're getting paid no matter when the race is run! And that is what they choose to do for their careers, it is a hell of a long season but they chose it!

Well, the skies opened up again. Its pouring pretty good at Chicagoland now. The track was pretty dry, but I doubt they'll get this party going tonight.

No beer for me today...

Rain postpones NASCAR race outside Chicago

JOLIET, Illinois (AP)—Rain at Chicagoland Speedway has forced NASCAR to postpone the opening race of the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.
NASCAR will attempt to run the race Monday at noon Eastern.

Well I have no classes tomorrow... so I'll be right here at 12:00 ready to watch a dull, lackluster 1.5 mile track!!!

I like Chicago, Kevin Harvick does pretty well there! Although he's not one of my picks....

The Kevin Harvick bandwagon guys shoudl be delighted. Good track for him... but still. Convince me that the chase needed another 1.5 mile track. We have Kansas, Charlotte, Texas, and Homestead after this... 1.5 mile tracks!!! Charlotte and TExas are the only ones that really belong to me... maybe Homestead. I really think the chase needed something different. Throw in a road course. Maybe Bristol?

I also think there are too many flat tracks in the chase. We have NEw Hampshire, Martinsville, and Phoenix. New Hampshire needs to get the boot too in my opinion. The races in the chase weren't put there to be the championship deciding tracks.... they got there by accidnet in 2004 when NASCAR dreamed up the chase format.
