Points leader is only averaging 96 points a race. Maybe hwen this whole season is said and done, I'll have to recalculate points without the penalties and see how everything would have shook out....
Jeff Gordon is all pissed at MWR... but I wnat Jeff Gordon to remember 1995 and his first championship...
If you check this video, at the 11:00 mark, a car sponsored by Hendrick run by Jeff Purvis pulls into the pits and sits for two laps... and at the 13:00 mark, the crew chief more-less admits they stopped to buy Jeff Gordon two "insurance laps" to ensure he won the championship.
At the 2:11:00 mark, Gordon comes in to pit and the whole pit crew was changed... parts guy on one tire, Evernham on another, and Hendrick cleaning the windshield... some may consider that a mockery of the sport. At the 2:13:00 mark, the broadcasters once again discuss the "insurance laps."
Should NASCAR go back and penalize Jeff Gordon 35 points and posthumously award Dale Earnhardt the title for 1995 and give him an unprecedented 8th championship?

While I must give Gordon one thing to his credit... Hendrick didn't have a car spin out with less than 10 to go and mess up everyones race... Hendrick did nothing to affect who won that race or even who finished in the top 10.

That sucks about taking our points away historian....Now I have lost the lead and dropped 3 spots in the overall. At least you aren't taking my victory away(or did You?). It's all good anyways, rules are rules. Seems like every time this happens I am involved. Oh well, I will get'em next week as they say. I am not upset, just messing with you. Its all in good fun...
