Always wondered about NASCAR letting that big cable ride back and forth across the track....

 

wow, now you can take a pic of damage to your car and send it to the pit crew to assess the damage........

 

Well, this is getting interesting now. I think the heat cycles are killing the engines. They ran all the practice and qualifying, which doesn't necessarily get the oil to the peak temperature... oil heats up a lot slower than water. Then when you run 130 laps, you get the oil really hot, then stopped for the camera when the cable fell. Then your car cools off... you crank it, drive around the track, and stop yet again. Then you go out and run another 130 laps and get your oil smoking hot, you take a couple of cautions, and taa daa... you've cooked an engine....



This will put a lot of disparity into our picks this week.

 

I'm actually cheering for a Chevrolet to win tonight. Chevrolet swept the top 4 at Indy, and I think it would be cool for them to do that tonight and make it a big ol' day for Chevrolet
