We need a word for it. How has no one come up with a term for the skirt flare thing?

Seasons ago, teams figured out that these cars went faster if the rear end was askew and the car went down the straight a little sideways. Some genius came up with the term "crabbing". They needed something to call it before it could be deemed illegal. That is the challenge that stands before us today. They will keep letting them do that fender pull out thing as long as we keep calling it a fender pull out thing.

So what's it gonna be?

the jack man makes the motion on the pit stop... so could we call it "jacked?" Its' a ripping motion he makes to pull it out so we could we call it "ripped?"

Looks like it could be used to cut a tire on another car.... call it a "cutter?" "ice pick?"

I haven't seen the motion! He actually makes a physical gesture to let the team know that it's time to deform the car?!? That's hilarious! I can picture the team meeting where they are teaching them how to properly skirt-roll and them teaching -"wait until I give this signal *rip*"

It looks very cutty, which is why I don't understand why NASCAR isn't all over this

No, I mean the jack man actually pulls it out. I guess the crew cheif pulls him aside and tells him to do it. I'm also guessing tehy practice this during pit road practice sessions during the week.

When they bring the car in, the jack man raises the car. while the tire changes and carriers are switching the tire, the jack man leans over, uses his left hand, and "snatches" or "rips" on the side skirt, then by the time he gets back to his jack handle, the tires are on and it's time to drop the car nad circle around.

I watched the 88 team do this at Charlotte - they didn't get it up as high on the first stop so on the second stop you could see the jack man pulling on it some more.

I presume Paul Wolfe, the guy who complained so much about "crabbing" the cars in 2012, invented this since Brad won Chicago doing this. Surpises me that, to my eyes, the 22 and 12 aren't pulled out today.
