Father's Day is the race at MIS, and we've been going for quite a few years now. We go see the Trucks on Saturday, also. This year LadyT got the tickets, upgraded the cup race seats to section 11, just 6 sections from the start/finish line. Best seats yet for the Cup race. Still in section 3 for the trucks, and that's great cuz by 3:30 when the race starts, we are in the shade from the press box! Had the same seats for the Indy Cars too, until they quit running there and went to Detroit's Belle Isle, and that place just plain SUCKS!

So when LadyT got the tickets she bought tickets for the Acceleration Club, which gets us to meet and ask questions to one of the drivers, as well as VIP parking and pit row passes. We didn't know who the driver was until a couple of days ago, and it's none other than DALE EARNHARDT JR.!!!!

He won here last year, and we were in Daytona when he won there in '04.

Through a series of events, the National Guard sent us a TON of freebies last year after the race, including over 50 hats, 200 posters, 6 t-shirts, a LARGE steel mini-hood, and of course a signed #88 National Guard die cast car! So we have become Junior fans, and now we get to meet him! They won't allow autographs for some reasons, but that's OK. I suppose I better wear #88 gear now!
