Cup Picks/Bristol/Sun Afternoon

Ryan Newman and Richard childress presented their appeal today, in which they had their 75 point penalty reduced to a 50 point penalty. Likewise, 06mistreSS, who chose Ryan Newman at this race, had 25 points added back to his total, moving him from 13th to 8th in overall/segment 1 points. Without a penalty, however, he would have been 3rd, and only 16 points out. The stats thread, along with my personal spreadsheet, has been adjusted to reflect this.

I thought I made picks earlier in the week - whoops! I gotta pick:
1. Dale Jr
2. Kevin Harvick
3. Joey Logano
... the same as every week. It seems to me that we are seeing the same drivers succeeding every week. More than ever and regardless of track. I gotta say that this is taking a lot of the fun out of racing. There's always been stronger teams than others, but we used to see some drivers doing better or worse on some tracks. Not any more.
Still, Jr is strong and I'll be damned if he wins a week that I don't pick him.

This could be more fun. A long time ago, before we really started scoring these things, our picks would include who would bring out the first caution. I think 'Space thought that was kind of a mean thing to do - inviting bad karma. He was probably right. The winner (loser) was usually Hornish or Peblo and we probably stopped picking cuz it was an easy one to pick and we'd all pick the same guy. There are probably more "plugs" now than ever and it might be fun to call the first cautioner again. 'Space ain't around to disapprove... Nobody tell him!
1st caution: Landon Cassill
Anyone else wanna guess?

The irony is... that group that picks the same 3 guys over and o ver hasn't won yet that I know of, it's usually someone who picks 1-2 of those cats and then switches out the third. There is a group every week of 4-7 pickers who have the same or nearly the same point total... sometimes more than that.
I wonder if I cut the picks back to picking two a week, if that would make a difference or just make it worse?
