That was never an actual written rule. We always said, "Let's let someone else have a chance". There is now a new rule (rule #12).We had a discussion in the Moderator's Section of the site back in January. The decision was made too late to implement for last month's MOTM. So it's starting this month.

On one hand, yes it is nice to let others have a chance. But on the other side of the argument; It's not really fair totell someonethey areforever ineligible to ever win again. Most car enthusiasts are constantly changing and improving their car. Plus it's more fun to have more people eligible. After all, Monte Of The Month is a fun, friendly competition. Having a one year waiting period is not unreasonable.

This is not about RJ. He just happens to be the first one to be lucky enough to take advantage of the new rule.
