Default Upgrading light bulbs on my 1979 Monte Carlo

Howdy!
I'm doing some upgrades to my '79. Had more than a few folks mention that my brake lights are not the easiest to see during the dayight. I used Rockauto as a guide. Figured I'd replace most of the bulbs around the outside and the instrument panel ones as well as they are mostly original and, in the case of the instrument panel, some are burn't out too. I have the OEM PN as well as what RockAuto calls "Maximum Brightness" listed below. Most of the Max Brightness are the PHILIPS CrystalVision series. Thought about LED, but that gets a tad pricey. 3 questions.
  • Do I have accurate OEM and Max Bright PNs?
  • How many of each do I need?
  • Am I missing any that I SHOULD upgrade?
  • Is there a PN for upgrading the engine compartment light socket? The internal mercury switch crapped out on mine, so I ditched it.
  • Any downside in going to the "Maximum Brightness" Bulbs?
  • If memory serves, the 1157 Brake light bulb does the rear turn signal as well?

Thanks in advance,
