Default Turn signals don't always work

I have a 200 Monte Carlo and occasionally the turn signals don't work. Sometimes they start flashing then stop. Other times they just don't work at all. A majority of the time if I turn the hazard lights on then off they'll work again. Could this be a bad contacts somewhere? I really don't want to buy a $100 turn signal switch and it could've been fixed for $20 or something.

Any help is appreciated,

DJ

It could be the hazard switch and it could be the turn signal switch (multifunction switch) I just replaced mine, the part was 30 bucks

I don't know if this makes a difference or not but my high beams also don't lock on. I have to hold the turn signal switch for them to stay on.

If that is the case then it is definitely the multifunction switch Mine did that all the time
