On the underside of the Dash on the door side of the Steering wheel there should be a Yellow button, that is your trunk release button. I have seen these in all the ones that I have looked at in the Salvage yards. Mine has it and my sons 96 Monte had it, as well. So check that if not then it may be real rare. The Haynes manual indicates to replace the lock you need to remove the rear panel on the outside of the Trunk and there are 2 rivets holding the lock in place drill those out put in the new lock and rivet or bolt is back into place. Hope that helps.

you said, the lock felt loose like key wasn't turning the tumblers, after you opened it did you get to look at it more?
