Default transmission life span? what is yours?

The transmission in my 05 LS (3.4l) is starting to act up (intermittent slipping, soft shifts). Had it flushed, no difference. Just over 86,000 miles on it. Just curious what kind of life span other members are seeing in similar vehicles. If you dont mind, post your year, engine, and mileagebefore repair/replacement. Cost would be interesting too. Still running the original with no issues? Lucky you. Thanks in advance for your replies.

Mine is a 03 LS with 99,050 miles on the clock and is the origional tranny....shifts perfect without no slipping what-so-ever. Probably the mobil one FULL SYNTHETIC tranny fluid and a good quality filter is what is making it last.

I have 39000 on an 07 and the tranny is smooth as can be.
I also put 117,000 on a 97 Cutlass Supreme with the same trans, no problems.

Question for the experts here: I am due for my first oil change in 1000 miles (I bought the car with 38,000). Would you reccomend I have the trans fluid flushed, or am I good for a while?

If I flush it, should I go with synthetic? I have read that changing to fully synthetic oil midway into the lifespan of a car can lead to oil leaks. Is this true, and is the situation the same for trans? Thanks for any info!
