Default Transmission Cooler Line Long Connector

Hi Everyone! I have a question on the Long connector (24236555) for my transmission cooler line. I attached a picture I found online of it. The yellow plastic connector, it is solid so no liquid can flow through it, and behind it is a gigantic glue ball. The yellow plastic easily pulls out. Is this and the glue supposed to come out before the line it connected? It seems like it would so the transmission fluid can flow through it, but I wasn't sure if Chevy decided to change around how they work. The original one was just a clear flow through. I was about to pull the plastic and glue out, but decided to ask on here first just to be sure. Thanks!

I spoke with someone at Dorman, they said the yellow connector has to be removed
