Here's a problem description from one of the best 4T65E Guru's I know of. Does it sound familiar?

As for the engine, I assume it's an LS with a 3400? Need a bit more info for a decent diagnosois. Should be more codes like P...

To repair or not? The miles are still fairly low, but you got a lot going on there. You seem more mechanically savvy than the average chic, so maybe you can do some work yourself, otherwise your looking at $3-5K for a shop to do everything you've listed. You might be better off picking up a good, low miles gen. 6 SS for that money. I fix and flip gen.6's usually picking them up for $800-1500 in the same condition as yours and sell for around $3K. "Black Knight" in "My Garage" is a prime example.
All of which might matter if she HAD a 4T65-E. Since it's a 4T60-E, the only scenario in which it makes sense to fix the tranny is a shift solenoid. If it's anything else, the only sensible solution is a shotgun shell. I know whereof I speak more than I wish on anyone; I actually had a factory-rebuilt unit commit seppuku on me with less than 10K miles on it.

The starting issues are most likely the fuel pump or the fuel pressure regulator, but unless it's something stupid like dry or burned fluid, I'm afraid the tranny makes the car DOA.

Suffice to say: I have not tried suggested UTube "headlight restorer" yet. I was going to shorty however.

Went to 2 doctors Yesterday, yeeuck!
To cheer myself up afterwards:

I Looked at 2006 MC ss White/Black with moonroof. : Sweet !
The car was just sitting at dealer and it talked to me!

It said: "Brad buy me, take me home and spoil me and I will be good car"
Seldom do I hear voices (when no humans are around, so I kinda pay attention to them,,lol.

So I went home and:

Ran a CarFax on it, no surprises & good service record
Car is going to dealer tomorrow (FRi), for a "Pre-Purchase Inspection"..

Below are some details to share with y'all (southern term)

2006 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS

Dealer's Price: $7,491
Mileage: 141,251 miles
2 Owners
No accidents
Transmission: 4-Speed Automatic Overdrive
Exterior Color: White
Interior Color: Black
Engine: V8
VIN: 2G1WL15C969323173
Stock #: H5158445B

1 Open recall: Recall #2014299 UNINTENDED IGNITION KEY ROTATION

Depending on favorable "Pre-Purchase Inspection"
This might be the one for me, Selling price is probably negotiable".
Condition - probably 8/10 +/- 1
Anyone have an idea of good price to offer? Just arrived (trade in) at dealer.
Edmunds, KBB - etc,,show 5 to 8 K for this car

PS: If I do buy it,,I guess I will have change my name and put some pic's in my garage

My bad, admitted ignorance on thorough knowledge of the gen. 5 transmission, but unfortunately it's the same difference pertaining to the scenario. And I agree with the ultimate solution, best to put the car to rest and move on.

The guy doing this video has no clue what the f**k he is talking about. My headlights re-hazed literally within a day of being sanded and painted. The haze has nothing to do with driving and rocks; it has to do with UV and contaminated air, combined with the fact that Chevy used garbage plastic on every composite headlight after 1999 (as opposed to Olds and Cadillac--my gf's headights on her SRX are glorious). Clear-coat spray paint does not form a vacuum seal and does not so much as alter the wavelength of ultraviolet radiation, no matter what the can says.
Ive thought about that video from time to time and can only laugh.. The guy truly believes thats the best way to restore headlights..
