Could also be a clogging catalytic converter, common on these cars and can give the symptoms of a sluggish transmission

Always a good idea to do a pan drop and filter change though

Thats wut i was thinking. Ihad already bought a tranny filter n fluid. Is it hard to change the filter?

If you have the right tools (jack and jackstands and such) it's not a terrible job. Could be a little messy

I got a jack and a jackstand. Where is the filter located? And how would i do a tranny flush

It wont be a flush persay:
After jacking up the car/Supported by the jack stands...

Unbolt the trans pan (becareful to not remove it to quickly)
Remove the filter/replace the filter/ and bolt the trans pan back on. (with a new trans pan gasket)(becareful to not over tighten the bolts) add approximately 7 1/2 quarts of trans fluid and walla your done!
Test drive it.. besure to get it up to operateing temp and recheck your trans fluid level... add more if needed... Otherwise you should be good to go!:congrats:

Nope a fluid flush is not possible without pulling the trans...There wil still be residual in the torque converter as well as the radiator...

And that still wont remove all the contaminants... Cause its built up in the lines ,tank and transmission... etc.
The only real way is to hot flush it...Throughly thru the whole system... That has to be done professionally!

If you dont want/do the trans filter and just add the lucas... Wait until the trans is 1 quart low before you add it....

But I highly recommend you do the filter fluid change... and just get 1 less quart of trans fluid and add the Lucas in its place...
