Default torque mount

Do you have to brace the motor to change front tourqe mount? And should I flip the bushing?

No you can let it rock freely..

Ill say about the bushings... These cars are getting to be a bit old and when you try this, theyre so dry rotted that they tear instead of flipping..

What would be considered bad shape?? Mines got 150k on stock mounts and Id rather my engine not fall out the bottom of my car.. Could the engine pull out of them or something??

You just are relying on the engine holding still using the lower mounts. You'll be fine, it won't fall out the bottom, I just like to let people know to inspect their lower mounts before they rely on them.

That's a good point. No one ever thought twice about it when the cars were newer, but with age and mileage they will deteriorate.

thanks for the info guys I change it out without an issue (bought a new torque mount) so no bushing issue flipping it) have to say it did make more of a difference than expected.

I replaced my round torque mount bushings with the poly red ones, but I could not get the square rubber ones to "flip" as some described here and on youtube! they just wanted to tear! so I will get new ones and put the poly bushings in those!

Yea, ive noticed you cannot do that trick anymore.. The cars are getting too old and the rubber is deteriorating..

What did you use as a lube to help them spin?
