Hello again guys, I have a local guy that has a 2004 Monte SS with a supercharged 3800 with the trans, runs perfect, car was in a wreck in the rear. He wants to sell the entire motor, trans, PCM, etc, EVERYTHING that goes to the Sc. What kind of price is a good price to pay for such an engine trans combo, or engine alone? After that I've heard swapping the motor is pretty strait up as long as you basically have a good macanical background , I'd rather pay to have it done and PROBLY will. An help would be awesome... Hello, thanks for the reply.. Miles on it.... 90,000. That's not to bad for an 04 But I just think its such ashame to tear a mint car apar like that... I'm trying to get him to trade mine for his + $3000 to avoid the swap and keep the car intact.. What do you think? My car has close to 200 on it but is mint as well, my engine still looks new, not a single drip off my engine....

 

how bad is the car damaged? Any pics? To me $3000 plus your car seems a bit steep for a wrecked car.

 

Lol.... Let me straitened this out a bit, THIS CAR HAS been in a prior wreck, I confused it with a differant post, there is another guy parting out a MINT 04 Monte SC, not this one... My bad, I got confused on the threads.. Feel like an idiot ! Lol....

 

He is probably parting it out because he can make more money on the parts then the whole car itself....blue book value is around $6000 for a 2004 and 90K miles so selling the parts like the engine and tranny...leather interior etc would bring him a lot more than that.

 

You said the car was rear ended previously? How much damage did it take?
