Speed Limiter
#2
Only way is to have your PCM reprogrammed, but the reason for the speed limiter is to keep the car from going above the speed rating of your tires, so if you planning on doing extended high speed runs make sure your tires are rated for it.

Unless you want to spend around $700.00 for HP tuners, or EFI Live, you can send the computer in and have it programmed and sent back. I had wait4meperformance do a mail order tune on the camaro I used to have, after I did a cam swap on it. I had no problems with it, and the guy that runs it definitely knows his stuff when it comes to tuning.

looks like he has a 3.5 not a 3.8 I'm actually thinking of buying an HP tuner just for the heck of it! I don't have any major mods but it is something that I really want for my 3.9....

My statement still holds true somewhat if you have a good dynotune shop around they can tune it for you.

i had a dyno shop tune mine a little to free up some things. the shop was glad it is a flex car they have seen alot of the older gen cars from the late 89 to 99 cars that are running horrible on the 7-10% ethonal they were tuning them so they can run better on the new type of gas. i had them bump from 107 to 110 no faster due to it only having four gears. i dont want to push it i am looking for a after market as well waiting for the new design for the 5 speed auto gm is making for the impalla 3.5 as well as the ss. cant wait it is still on the testing stage it said it was going to be a 5 speed or six speed trans it wasent all to cleare acording to the gm rep when i got my monte out of service department. i heard him talk about the impallas coming out with them as well as a replacement for the monte's for a aftermarket upgrade. well i am not going to hold my breath. p.s. i am a bad typest and a bad speller
