Default snow drifting

iv got an 05 LT. i live in Michigan. its snowing, fwd car, whats a fella to do but pull the E-brake from time to time. when i do a "service traction system" light come on and is on until i turn the car off. when i turn it back on its fine this happens whether the t/c is on or off should i worry about this or or is it my Monte telling me to cut it out? another good way to drift it is to press the gas and the brake into a turn
