Small Transmission Leak
I got a small transmission leak on my 03 SS.
I recently changed out the CV Axle and also changed out the transission drive axle seal. And it leaks from there. Never did before.
Is there anyway i can try and fix it with out taken back apart and replacing it.
I picked up some NO LEAK transmission stop. But haven't tried it. Thought i would check and see what u guys think?

Hi don't really know if this fits your situation, but when my passenger side axle was reinstalled the c-clip on the shaft pulled free from the slotted internals and my whole axle moved just enough to let tranny fluid to start seeping out. The car seemingly drove just fine like that but leaked fluid. We had to knock it back into place. Could your problem be similiar in nature and not a bad seal? Just throwing that out there for you...

Sorry, it needs to be taken all the way back apart again. Make sure your seal is seated correctly and good call ZIPPY02 definitely check the snap ring on the shaft (and make sure it goes into place inside the transmission)

nitehawkjcb, The seal was probably seated correctly.

My HD axle shaft was actually a touch to long for some unknown reason, thus preventing the C-clip from seating. We had to remove about 1/8" from the shaft's splined end, and then it was able to be fully inserted and the C-clip seated when knocked into place. Don't know if this happens to often or not. I drove all the way to Calif. like that and ended up having to have a shop from the Fontana Speedway out there diagnois and fix the problem.

You have to loosen the bolts on the trans pan and drain some out that way...
Its a messy job doing it on your back on the ground!
